hobby lobby or michaels or such as them stores has a selection of cheap wood burning kits and tips.
You may find one at Walmart; I’ve seen them at my local store.
Interesting. I looked up pyrography because I have done some wood burning in my artwork. I also do a lot of soldering. I don’t know if a soldering iron will give you the control and detail that tools specifically made for pyrography. I would suggest that you decide on a price range. Look at the tools available on the pyrography tool sites. Then do some comparison shopping on eBay, Amazon, and other sites. You can get a cheaper wood burning tool for $10 to $20 from a craft store if you are just curious and want to try it out. Those do not have a temperature control and you cannot control the how hot it gets. The tips might not also be fine enough for detail work. This was an interesting site that showed systems for people who are serious about this art form.
If you want to go with a soldering iron, then I would recommend a Weller 100 soldering iron. You can find it online and at some hardware stores. It has a temperature control.
Dremel sells one as well but I have not tried it.
Hope you have a lot of fun. Looks very interesting.
