if you attached a soldering iron to steel,would it melt?

if i did that,would it melt or would the electricity go straight through it?

    There’s no electricity flowing out of a soldering iron. The electricity just heats up the tip, but not hot enough to melt steel, noway. It’ll melt stuff like tin, lead core solder, but not steel.

    No it wont. Steel has a high melting point. If you do want to melt it… Go to your nearest steel factory and ask if you can use their furnace.

    common sense should tell you that if it would , there would be no tip left on the soldering iron to use…
